The 3rd Annual Rosarito Film Festival, hosted by the Rosarito Beach Hotel and Mayor Hugo Torres, has commenced and will run the week of August 1st – August 8th. Created by Mayor Hugo Torres in an effort to project a positive image of the town of Rosarito, the film festival offers students an opportunity to develop and produce a film from their vantage point on Rosarito.
Working in teams, the students are given a camera, tripod, microphone, and computer and have one week to shoot and edit a film. All equipment is donated by Campus MovieFest, the world’s largest film festival. The students’ final product will be viewed at the Baja Film Studios and an awards ceremony will follow, wrapping up the weeklong event.
